Meta is grading employees on AI use in 2026, letting staff use AI tools to boost performance and write reviews.
Meta is making AI use a key part of employee performance reviews in 2026, according to an internal memo seen by Business Insider.
The company says staff will be expected to use AI to improve their work and help their teams, and those who do well will be rewarded.
Although this won’t affect 2025 reviews, employees are encouraged to record their AI achievements now. Meta is also promoting an “AI-native” culture through games and a hiring process that allows applicants to use AI in coding tests.

The move follows similar efforts by tech giants like Microsoft and Google to increase AI adoption across their teams.

AI companies measure this impact to grow their market value. But is this creating a bubble? On one hand, AI can do the work of 20 people, giving these companies a chance to cut jobs and inflate their capital.
